Andrea Bocella, Nessum Dora

I was doing a session with my client Jackie; she and I speak often. During our last session, she asked me if her grandfather would tell me what song he was going to sing in the Metropolitan Opera in NY.

Now, we had covered quite a bit during our session, and as usual, I was getting tired. I have no knowledge of Opera, none whatsoever. I told her I wasn’t getting it I explained to her that if I got it, I would let her know, but not to expect me to get it. She told me she was thinking about his experience as a young man at the opera. She told me he was supposed to audition, however, he got cold feet and never went in.

She may have told me the song she was thinking about, but we covered so much that I do not remember. A little over a month had passed and I completely forgot about our session. I had so much going on that I was running through life just trying to keep up. Then it happened. I was relaxing watching the Andrea Bocella thirtieth anniversary concert on PBS.

Bocella had several musicians singing with him, including Johnny Depp & Ed Sheeran, I was absorbed in the music. Then it happened: Andrea sang Nessun Dorma at the end of the concert. Within seconds of him starting to sing that song, I sat straight up and yelled, that’s it! That is the song Jackie asked me about. I knew it was her Grandfather who told me that was the song.

Yes, the souls will do that to me from time to time. I may have forgotten about her wondering which song he was about to sing, but the souls do not. I still wasn’t convinced that song was opera until I sent Jackie a text, the next day and asked her. She confirmed it and reminded me she had been thinking about that song a week before our session.

The souls can be playful, and aside from that, grandpa wanted Jackie to know he was with her & didn’t forget about her asking me about the song…
