                                       Being a Care Giver

Being a Care Giver

I’m stepping out a bit to talk about Caregivers, not Doctors or nurses who are caregivers, no, I am talking about the family member or friend who is there to care for a loved one. When you or someone you know is a caregiver, they are going through a lot that they will not talk about. They feel nothing else matters but the loved one they are taking care of. If you are a caregiver, you are most likely not sleeping and feel irritable, as you are so consumed with the care your loved one needs that you forget about yourself.
You possibly will fall into a depression, you aren’t eating well, and you lose interest in the things you enjoy. Caregivers also feel isolated, angry, and resentful.
Remember that you must take care of yourself, because if you can’t be true to yourself, you can’t be true to those who need you. There is nothing wrong with understanding that the one who needs care is you, the caregiver.
Always be hopeful, never hopeless. Always be optimistic, never pessimistic. Most of all, never stop believing.
