I love a show on NYC PBS called Profiles with Mickey Burns. He interviews successful people in the arts.
They are musicians, writers, performers, and others. What I noticed about the talent on the show, they, all followed their passion, most were driven to create something following their love of their art, it isn’t about the money it never was.
As they continued on their journey the money followed, money wasn’t the goal it was a bonus and they all continued to focus mainly on their chosen field, whether it was playing the guitar, piano, horn, sax, trombone, violin, singing, writing a book, painting a painting, illustrate something, sculpt or write a show. The lesson I learned watching them is we should pursue what we enjoy and love, if you are talented and do not quit the money follows.
This isn’t limited to art, it could be the love of building something or helping others like I do, this applies to life in general. Yeah, you do have to be good at what you do that goes with everything. It can be a part-time thing aside from your career.
Remember, this life we live is a journey, not a destination, make it a good one. As I have been saying for quite some time now; If your goal is that big house on the hill, but you’re not enjoying the journey you will never enjoy that house.
