I was just finished doing a session at a major bank in the city for one of their Managing Directors, a regular client, when I hear a voice telling me; a friend of mine who works at IBM was going to be fine, and he would make it through the next round of layoffs. It came out of nowhere, I wasn’t thinking about him, nor had we spoken in over 2 weeks.
He had told me a month ago, another big round of layoffs was coming & he was concerned, but I had forgotten about that conversation. I called him to let him know what I heard, which was he’s valuable & would make that cut.
He told me I would be wrong this time… I have been 100% with him … He said, his division was being sold and spun off as a vendor & everyone was going. My answer was, ok, maybe but I have to go with what I heard.
He called me a week later, the layoffs had come & he made it through, I was not surprised. When I just hear a voice out of nowhere, I know it right, it has never been wrong. That doesn’t happen with everyone I see, but it happens frequently.
